One week before your appointment, cease using:

• Omega-3 supplements (fish oil, flax seeds)
• Vitamin E
• St. John's Wort
• Aspirin
• Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
• Naproxen (Aleve)

Whenever possible, avoid anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications for two weeks before treatment. Don't consume any alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the treatment. Schedule filler and Botox appointments at least two weeks before special events to allow for visible results to develop within 4 to 7 days and to manage potential bruising and swelling.

• Arrive with clean, dry skin.
• Numbing cream can be applied to the area to enhance comfort during injections.
• Be present 30 minutes ahead of your appointment for numbing.
• Expect tenderness after the numbing effect subsides.
• Apply a cold compress to the area to minimize swelling and bruising.
• Maintain an upright position for 3-4 hours after injections.
• Avoid sleeping on the treated area for 3-4 hours to prevent pressure.
• Arnica supplements can help reduce bruising.

• Unless instructed by the provider, avoid excessive movement or massaging the treated area.
• For 24 hours, refrain from bending, straining, or engaging in vigorous exercise.
• Stay away from intense sun exposure and heat for 72 hours.
• Limit alcohol and salt consumption to prevent excessive swelling. If swelling occurs, use cold compresses for 15 minutes each hour and consider using Tylenol for discomfort.
• Sleep with your head elevated and face up to minimize swelling.
• Begin taking Arnica a couple of days before injections to manage swelling and bruising.
• On the night of the treatment, elevate your head with an extra pillow to alleviate swelling.
• Avoid facials or chemical peels for a minimum of 24 hours after injections.
• If you experience severe and persistent pain or skin blanching at the injection site, contact your injector.
