Juvéderm Volbella® XC is a hyaluronic acid-based gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in your body, and Volbella is a synthetic version that your body accepts easily. The goal is to replenish the hyaluronic acid that was lost due to age, restoring volume to create a plumper, more youthful smile and smooth lip lines.
The small particle size in this product is ideal for smoothing fine lines without producing a bulky or puffy look. The result is fuller lips that bring out the best in your natural beauty.
Your treatment will take about 15 to 25 minutes to perform. Juvéderm Volbella® XC contains a small amount of a local anesthetic to help keep your treatment comfortable. You will feel the pinch of the needle, but the process is reasonably easy to experience.
If you have a history of allergic reactions, talk to your medical professional before receiving an injection of Juvéderm Volbella® XC. This injection is only approved for patients over the age of 21 and has not been studied in younger patients. Almost everyone is an excellent candidate for Volbella.
The lip-plumping results will last up to one year. One year after treatment, 80% of patients experienced improved satisfaction with their lips, and 75% of patients experienced improved satisfaction with the appearance of vertical lip lines. When treated again after a year, you may need less Volbella to maintain your look.
You might experience temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, and itching at the treatment site after injections with Juvéderm Volbella® XC. However, the recovery is generally minimal, and you will be able to resume normal activities right away. You should avoid sun exposure and vigorous physical activities for the first 24 hours.
